American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)
What is the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act?
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) has many levels and intricacies to it, but the simple answer is that the ARRA is a bill that the government passed in 2009 to help stimulate and promote the economic growth of the United States. The goals of the act are to:
Create new jobs and save existing ones
Spur economic activity and invest in long term growth
Foster unprecedented levels of accountability and transparency in government spending.
How does this effect or concern Air King's products?
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) includes a provision for "Manufactured Goods". Most of Air King's products meet the Made In America requirements of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act as a Manufactured Good.
How is ARRA different from "Made in America"?
For a product to be labeled "Made in America" all materials and components used in the product must come from the United States and the manufacturing must take place in the United States. ARRA allows US based manufactures to utilize some components from outside the United States as long as they are significantly altered during the manufacturing process. So in the example of an exhaust fan or range hood - if the motor comes from outside the United States but everything else is sourced and manufactured in the United States, it meets the requirements for ARRA.
What is the significance of an ARRA manufactured good?
Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, government building and projects are required to use products that meet the ARRA requirements. There is also federal funding available to builders who adhere to the standards set forth through the ARRA. The ARRA also allows consumers to know that the products they are using in their homes and buildings where made in the USA.
So what can Air King offer?
Air King has one of the largest selections of Exhaust Fans, Range Hoods and Air Circulating Fans that meet the requirements as put forth by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Throughout the website look for the "Meets Made In America Requirements of ARRA" logo.
