Where is the model number located on my fan?
On most fans the model number is either located on the motor, on the rear grill or under the base of the fan.

How do I clean my fan?
Always disconnect your fan before cleaning. DO NOT immerse electrical parts in water. Parts may be cleaned with a mild detergent and water. Wipe all other parts with a soft cloth moistened with water and mild detergent only. Dry all parts completely before reconnecting to power source.
How do I get a copy of the instruction sheets
Instruction sheets can be downloaded from this web site. Please go to the "Product Information" section and navigate to your particular model or use the search feature at the top of the page to type in your model number.
Do I need to lubricate the motor?
NO. Your motor is permanently lubricated and does not need to be oiled.

My fan included a secondary support cable, do I need to install this?
YES. On units that include a secondary support cable, it should always be installed to provide additional safety.

I do not have a grounded outlet, can I still use my fan?
NO. The power cord is equipped with a three-prong grounded plug that must be inserted into a matching receptacle. Under no circumstances must the grounding prong be cut off the plug. Where a two-prong wall receptacle is encountered, it must be replaced with a properly grounded three-prong receptacle installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes and ordinances. This work must be done only by a qualified electrician, using copper wire only.

WARNING: USE OF A THREE-PRONG TO TWO-PRONG ADAPTER IS NOT RECOMMENDED. IMPROPER CONNECTION MAY CREATE THE RISK OF ELECTROCUTION. USE OF SUCH ADAPTERS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN CANADA.

Do I need to remove my window fan to close the window?
NO. By using Air King's Storm Guard feature, your window fan can be installed so that the window can close behind the fan.

My fan will not operate?
1. Check that there is power to the outlet and that the fan is completely plugged in. Two of the most common items are either the circuit breaker is off / there is a blown fuse, or that the outlet is controlled by a light switch.

2. Make sure a speed has been selected with the fan's controls.

3. If your fan has a thermostat feature, make sure it is properly set.

How do I order replacement parts?
Replacement parts can be ordered from the parts department by calling 1-800-233-0268 Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM EST.
